Art Show

As part of Open House, help Art teachers transform the MPR into an art gallery like no other.  This is a wonderfully creative event that takes several days to prepare and many volunteers!


Birthday Book Club

Your $20 donation will sponsor a new book during your child's birthday month. Your child will pick from a shelf of brand new books, be the first one to check the book out, and receive a bookplate with their name and birthday on the inside cover. It's a fun and lasting way to help raise money for the library.


Book Fair

When: October 10-18th 2019
In 2019, Lucas Valley will hold its week-long book fair starting on October 10th. Monies raised go directly towards buying books and equipment for the library. Quality fiction, non-fiction, and gifts for students and families are available. Additionally, donations to teachers, library, and staff wish lists can be purchased.

Box Tops/Labels
CanDo!
When: throughout the year
Look for the "Boxtops for Education" symbol on your favorite General Mills, Betty Crocker, Hefty, Green Giant, Kleenex, and Cottonelle product boxes. Tear it off and send it back to your teacher. We then send them off and get money back- it's that easy! 


Lucas Valley Lunches

Are you hungry? The Lucas Valley Lunches is our school hot lunch program run by LVHSC and parents like you!  Volunteers are needed daily to help serve. It is a great way to see your kids at lunchtime and provide a great service to the school. 


Doodle

When:  Distribution in May 2019
Every year our kids have the opportunity to take their artwork and use it to decorate or create something new with Dixie Doodle. Working with the art teachers to select and provide artwork, parents are needed to help distribute the final products.


Field Day

When: TBD May 2019
This is held at the end of the school year with the help of our PE Specialist and staffed by our parents. Students participate in a wide variety of field activities and parents are needed to help run the different stations.


Fifth Grade Graduation

Green Team / Recycle Fridays
Open Position
When: Daily and Weekly
Oversee weekly volunteers for lunchtime landfill/food waste/recycling program. Lucas Valley makes a major effort to reduce our carbon footprint -- and raise money for the school -- by collecting recyclable materials every Friday morning when school is in session.


Kindergarten Playdate
LVHSC Board

Plan and oversee play date including snacks,  drinks, information, and crafts for our new Kindergarten classes.


Lunch Clubs

When: Daily 
Every day during lunchtime recess, kids have the opportunity to do something other than playground time.  Clubs include: LEGO, Garden Club, Library, Yearbook,  and Lazy Lion’s Den. Parent volunteers are needed daily.


Picture Days

Say "Cheese"! Student portraits are taken in the Fall. We need help getting students looking their best during picture day and make-up day as well as to help distribute packages.


Safe Routes to School/Bike Rodeo

Getting to and from school safely is a high priority at Lucas Valley Elementary School. We kick-off the program each year by celebrating the National 'Walk and Bike to School Day'. Help us promote safety with our students, whether they walk, bike, or drive to school.

Spirit Wear

To encourage all students to wear their T-shirts on spirit days and on field trips, LVHSC has added the new logo to all of the Spirit Wear offerings and has since ordered new items such as sweatpants and shorts.


Variety Show 
Open Position

​If you don't already know, Lucas Valley Elementary School has many wonderfully creative and talented students and the Lucas Valley Variety Show allows them to showcase their talent while having fun! This year's Variety Show had students singing, dancing, telling jokes, playing an instrument, doing magic tricks, and more! Each year we look for two parents to co-chair this really fun event. No experience needed, just come and have fun working with Lucas Valley's talented kids!


Teacher/Staff Luncheon
When: 8/21, 11/05, 03/03 & 05/08
Show your teachers and staff that you appreciate them throughout the year.  To celebrate the end of each trimester, the parents of Lucas Valley donate food, drinks, and other goods for a Teacher/Staff Appreciation Lunch.


Walk-a-Thon
Kalei Colridge & Sivan Oyserman 
The Walk-A-Thon is held during school hours so everyone can participate! Lucas Valley students walk around the field and blacktop for as many laps as their legs can take. This is a very important fundraiser and we need parents to organize the events and help throughout the day. All the money raised from the Walk-a-thon stays at Lucas Valley School to fund programs, supplies, technology, field trips, educational assemblies, teacher's classrooms, and more!

Before the school year begins, LVHSC reaches out to new families transferring into our school. Throughout the year, new families are greeted with school information and a small welcome token from Lucas Valley.


Yearbook
Andrew Pang
Each year, Lucas Valley Elementary publishes a yearbook. We need help taking pictures, creating pages, marketing, collecting orders, and distributing the books. This year there will be a lunch club offered to students who would like to help with design. Parent volunteers needed!
